Froggy and I are going to illustrate our own meggillah this year using a paper towel roll as the scroll with a different scene on each paper taped together. I hope to do a scene a day until it is done and then have her "read" it to the littles on Purim.

ReplyDelete4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
ReplyDelete3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup unsalted margarine
1 ½ cup sugar
2 eggs
4 tsp milk/rice milk/water
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup of your favorite filling
Cream together margarine and sugar, then add the eggs and vanilla. Separately, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add dry ingredients to the egg mixture with the mixer on low, alternately with water or rice milk. Chill the dough for 1 hour to overnight, then roll out to ¼ inch thickness, and using a water glass or round cookie cutter, cut into 2'' rounds.
Fill with 1 heaping teaspoon of your favorite filling, and draw up sides for triangle. Seal edges with cold water. Bake at 375° for about 12 to 15 minutes.
fun Purim activity: I break out the face paint and let my kids and guests have a ball!

ReplyDeletewell, i don't know how fun this is but my girls are being Pilgrim girls because our last name is May and we'll be making our mishloa'ch manot to resemble a ship... Still thinking about how to tie that into Purim... any ideas?

ReplyDeletefun Purim activity: make noise maker out of dry beans and a paper plate by placing the beans inside 2 plates and stapling around the edges, remember to tape over the staples for smaller students.
